Interviews
Interview to Argentinian architects Marcelo Faiden [1977 - ] and Sebastián Adamo [1977 - ], principals of Adamo-Faiden. They have degrees in architecture from the University of Buenos Aires and Ph.D. degrees from the school of Architecture of Barcelona, Polythechnic University of Catalonia. Working in partnership since 2000 in 2005 they founded Adamo-Faiden and started their work operating from Buenos Aires. They have received numerous prizes in national and international competitions and have participated in exhibitions, like 2006 Venice Architecture Biennale with ‘Deseos’ installation.
In this interview we asked Marcelo Faiden and Sebastián Adamo about their relation of writing, building and teaching, understanding it as whole practice, where boundaries are diluted. This is also applied to the references in order to expand the frame of action of the architect and in a certain practical-ethical statement: trying to dilute private ambitions and public needs.
They also talked about the current architecture scenario that is developing in Buenos Aires and about the tactics and working methods that a young architecture practice uses to be part of the discussion and have commissions [or self-commissions].
Sharp ideas and a solid work in the next video.
