Naomi Klein Interview Part 1Part one of interview to canadian journalist Naomi Klein [1970 - ], internationally known as bestselling author of No Logo [2000] and The Shock Doctrine [2007].

We were interested to meet her for two main reasons: First, because No Logo provides us a different approach on the differences between center and periphery, from the lens of the actions of transnational corporations. Second, because there’re certain things in common between her methods and ours: when lacking specific knowledge on the issues related to her works, instead of recurring to the obvious academic sources –like any given economist or political analyst- she goes straight after the direct ones [places, characters or documents], all for establishing new associations. Because reading about factories in Jakarta is a totally different experience from actually visiting them –and we believe this is also valid for architecture.

This fist episode deals with two main subjects: How No Logo’s concept of Crisis anticipated and therefore was corroborated by the most striking media and political event of this ongoing century [9/11] and, secondly, her thoughts on the current tension between center and periphery.
